I’m heading to Lake Seminole this weekend, and having never fished up there before, am looking for some help in trying to reduce the bass population. We’re staying at a house on Spring Creek, so any advice there would be great, but I’m open to exploring other areas as well. I’ve tried finding a map of the lake here locally, but have not had any luck. So, if anyone with some local knowledge of the Spring Creek area would chime in, I would appreciate it!
I had a tournament up there two weeks ago. I found that a rat-l-trap in spotty hydilla was very good. Look for bends in the river and fish the drop offs. One good spot is to go out of Big Jims run and where you have to go right or left to stay in the markers. Stop at that intersection and go across. You will be in about 20 feet of water. Fish those trees and any hydrilla you can find.
Water melon red lizards have done well and a baitfish colored Rat-L-trap.
I have to work this weekend so that is the only reason you are getting this information!!!
Good Luck
We stay at the Spring Creek Park Resort every year in the double wide trailer, across from Jim's that place is JUMPIN on the weekends I very seldom go more than a mile or two from the resort to do my main catchin where Grasscarp said is a goodun and all the area between there and Wingates cutoff also I've had the best luck with a Rattlin Rogue "of course" and a pumpkin seed/chartues tail worm but also have caught fish on a Top Dog, 5" Chug Bug and a Dyin Flutter I would imagin that a Devil Horse would work good also "I just aint took the time ta tie one on" We fish in April, so the water temp is usually a little warmer by then good luck and let us know how ya did and with what

Will do wevans. I have my freshwater baits that I'm confident in when I fish down here (mainly Lake Jackson), but wasn't sure what the folks use up there. I'm sure I'll thow my "go to" lures some, and will throw some of the suggestions from here. My wife and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary this weekend, and she's actually the one who set it up. I would have probably waited another couple of weeks for it to warm up some, but if she wants to spend the weekend in a fishing shack, I'm not going to argue with her.
