Permit question
Last year a friend showed me a picture of a Permit he caught several miles south of SGI. It looked to be around 25lbs. I had never heard of one being caught this far North and wanted to see if anyone else has. Is this normal?
Re: Permit question

Thanks for the info. I will keep a lookout for them this summer.

From what I understand it's a big pompano so I'd say yeah, and it'd probably be good.macdaddy wrote:Can ya eatum?

Re: Permit question
enjoy it while you can. If the Souf Fla guides and CCA have anything to do with it the Permit will be C&R only or have a tag you have to purchase like a poon. The Bright side is that if this global warming keeps up  we'll be able to fish for them on the flats like down in the keys
