Permit question

Post by konrad »

Last year a friend showed me a picture of a Permit he caught several miles south of SGI. It looked to be around 25lbs. I had never heard of one being caught this far North and wanted to see if anyone else has. Is this normal?

From what I understand it's a big pompano so I'd say yeah, and it'd probably be good.

enjoy it while you can. If the Souf Fla guides and CCA have anything to do with it the Permit will be C&R only or have a tag you have to purchase like a poon. The Bright side is that if this global warming keeps up  we'll be able to fish for them on the flats like down in the keys
