I was on my way to work when my wife called. She had just heard a small plane had flown into one of the towers. While we were talking, the second plane flew into the other tower. I tried to get on the internet at the office, but it was jammed. She called again wanting to know if she should get the kids out of school. She was scared and I was mad as hell.
I too am not for burning the Koran, however, I am for finding someway to send a message to those Muslim extremist that all of America wants to kill them!
May God have mercy on the souls who were taken in that cowardly attack on 9/11!

Standing in the equipment room of the FAA's Atlanta Large Area Tracon(A80) when the first reports came in...Facility went on alert after the second plane went in...and was there to witness the skies go empty after ATC-zero was declared....if anyone has ever seen what the skies of the USA look like on RADAR....and then to see skies become empty....man it was amazing!!!!! to take that much metal out of the air in the amount of time that is was done is nothing more than amazing!!!!!!

Putting cabinets in a house in Lake Tallavana. I thought we are at war.
I am glad about the burning the koran issue. It brings the bloodthirsty religon out in the open, maybe wake up more sheeple. Shows who stands where in our war against islam. Make no mistake, that is what it is.

Re: where were you 9/11/01
I had just pulled a car into the detail shop to start a day long project. I had just turned on the shop tv and was getting set up when they broke away to the coverage. I immediately called my dad and asked him if he was watching the news. He replied, "Why?" I told him and stayed on the phone while we spoke. Then, I called my wife. The next hour, I just stood there and watched knowing full well what was going down. My wife called her folks in Pennsylvania. They had just gotten in from a flight from Dallas to New York, Laguardia. The evening before, September 10, they flew past the WTC to land. They were the only ones on the plane and talked about how pretty the New York skyline was at dark. My wife and I had just been married in PA a few weeks earlier. Some of our guests stayed at the WTC Marriot to see the sights of NYC while coming to our wedding 2 hours away. I did what every real American does every day and worked the rest of the day and went home to huddle around the tv with my family here in Tallahasse and my in laws on the phone in Pennsylvania. Later that evening, we went to a prayer meeting at our church.

At the office getting ready for a staff meeting that started at 9:00am. TV was on in the room outside my office. Saw that the first plane hit and then watched as the second hit. I remember as I watched thinking, "Those buildings are coming down and those people need to get away from there." Felt absolutely gutted, angry, helpless and shocked. Everything changed that day for our country and honestly, for the world as well. Reminded me that we are not promised another minute on this earth. I still feel for those families who lost loved ones. May God bless them with comfort and encouragement today.

I was in my hay field making hay. My daughter-in-law came and got me. She was up set and didn't understand what was going on. I was in denial until I saw the second plane hit. I remember saying, "someone will pay for this!". I knew our President would take care of business and supported him 100%.
Then we forgot! He was blaimed for it all.

I was in San Juan Puerto Rico building a pharmaceutical plant. When I came out of the underground system I was working on, there were lots of folks running around with Cell phones trying to call NYC, but the lines were jammed. I asked what had happened and maybe its my spanish or the way the rumor mill works, but he told me that the americans had shot down a plane and one hit the WTC then they shot down another and it his the other WTC. So I went ot to my Jeep after grabbing some plantanes and Coffee and listened to the horrific news. At my office in Virginia Beach, I had a TV. The whole office was gathered around it and watching the news.

Very similar experience, Suber, though not 9/11 in my case... was on my honeymoon in Oaxaca, Mexico in January of 1991 when the aerial portion of the first gulf war started. Of course it wasn't near the shock due to the prior Iraq invasion of Kuwait and the threat of our needing to be involved, but it was still disorienting & chaotic to be sitting in romantic outdoor cafe and to have folks frantically/excitedly spread the news in rushed spanish. Despite speaking some spanish, I had to get to a tv to really get a feel for how things were going versus listening to the emotional word-of-mouth accounts of what was happening.jsuber wrote:...maybe its my spanish or the way the rumor mill works, but he told me that the americans had shot down a plane and one hit the WTC then they shot down another and it his the other WTC....
