Thanks for the suggestion RC. I'm sure custom will be in the future, just not quite yet. I think he will need to try a couple to find what he really likes before a custom order. I'll be sure and send the business your way when the time comes. We like to support local whenever possible. He went with the Stradic 3000 FJ with a Clarus 7'6" medium power fast action rod. We'll see how it works. Thanks again to everyone for the information. I enjoyed the lessons on inshore equipment. I'd give everyone a 10lb red snapper for their help if the law man would let me! That is if I could catch one that small. See you on the water.

You probably already know this but make sure he ties in about a 3 foot fluorocarbon leader with a uni to uni knot.

penn makes a 4200,4300, 4400 , quantum makes a pt ,shomano makes soros,spheros,saragosa,diawa,exceler,regel i like all star rods theses are good chooses .i have work on theses or i have one in a spinning reel bait caster shomano,citica,abu 4600 ,5600 ,the revos,770 quantum energy ,diawa,team diawa seires,diawa has good stuff,
