Hey Rocky,

Was good to see you Friday (before the slip and fall)! Wish we would have had some time to catch up. As for the ramp, its like walking on ice BUT Ive got a pair of old rubber crocks that doesn't slip at all. Thats the only foot ware I will wear when launching out of the light house!

Be careful, that ramp is super slippery at low tide. I've seen more that one person wipe out and head straight to the hospital for stitches

I have warned a lot of folks about that ramp and witnessed several falls in person, the latest being me on Friday afternoon. Wrong shoes......stupid decision, now limping around with a wounded foot. (and pride)

Did not keep me from fishing Saturday and today.....it just hurt.

Note.......your wife will extend to you little sympathy when you get hurt fishing.

I saw the slime build up the last time I put in. Someone should drop the county commission or State DNR a letter that folks are getting hurt and asking them who their insurance carrier is. I suspect they might get someone down there to clean it.

Saturday - We put in just after noon. Headed east of the lighthouse and caught a few flounder on white and white combos. Caught some sea trouts on red fish magic (red&white), suspended, and top water lures. All in all it was a good day!!!

Sunday - We put in just before noon and headed into the river for some relief from the wind, but it was still a little too choppy. Only caught a 17" sea trout on RFM and a sailcat on top water. Called it quits early due to the weather. Still better than being at work!!!

I did the slip and slide mud wallow deal when I was loading up later that afternoon.

BTW.....that's a national park and the US Government has no need for slip and fall insurance. Maybe I should send a picture of my wounds to my Congressman. lol

Actually, there are some circumstances where the guberment has given us surfs permission to sue it. I don't know if this is covered under the Federal Tort Claims Act or not, but it might be interesting to look.
