Has anyone ever went out to the middle grounds on one of the overnite "party boats"? I am trying to get a sorta cheap fishing trip to the middle grounds. thanks for any input

I don't think my bluechart software goes that far out!
Bait boy, Captain K does middle grounds trips and has a new boat. Check the guides link on this site. Also check spearboard.com, they mention several charters that do middle grounds trips. I'm not sure you'll find a cheap trip with it being close to 200 miles round trip, and moving from spot to spot....that's a lot of fuel! Big bend charters runs a one day middle grounds trip, I think it's 12 hours, 6 of that is riding.

I'd be interested in a trip out there if the seas were calm. The last time I was out there (20 yrs ago) I went on a party boat out of St. Petersburg. On the way back we got into some 15's and 20's and ralph made his presence known thorugh the boat.
I even contributed to the chum line. That was the only time I had ever been sick on a boat, and I sure hope it was my last.
