Water temp?

Post by Hit-n-Miss »

:-D Could yall explain the water temp equation for me? I mean what temp is best on the flats. And how much temperature difference makes a difference? Like in the spring how much warmer from one spot to annother will make them feed. Or conversly how much cooler in the summer makes a difference? Thanks in advance. :-D

Water temp was high 50's to low 60's on Saturday. When it hits 68, you need to be there.
As far as the other stuff, I don't know about all that.

In spring and summer, 1 degree will make a difference. But, water temperature is only one element of the equation. There must be desirable structureor cover, food, and enough water. If the water warms up on a sunny afternoon, close to shore, but it's a minus low tide, they probably won't be in 8" of water. Find the warmest water you can, in the early spring, with the right bottom, and a food source, and you'll find fish.
What was I supposed to do today?

I know a guy that fishes Keaton beach religiously. He fishes the same hole everytime no matter the water temp or air temp. He always catches fish. I don't know why they hang out in this hole but I have witnessed it with my own eyes.
