A unique website dedicated to fishing information from Florida's Northern Big Bend. This includes the area from the Econfina River west to the Apalachicola River
I've heard people say you had to carry your own rock to stand on if you wanted to fish opening day of trout season in North Georgia........don't even look like they got room for an extra rock up there!!
Growin' up in WV, that's about what it looks like during the entire trout season. Basically, once they quit stocking, there are no more fish till next season. There are a few rivers/creeks that are exceptions; but, it brings new meaning to the words "fishing pressure." I've seen trucks actually chasing the stock truck...kind of sad.
Don't remind me I've kinda been enjoying goin fishing and only seeing the occasional boat this Winter
“Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes.”
Now that's what I call fishing pressure. Doesn't seem like that would be a lot of fun. Half of my enjoyment of fishing comes from the solitude and the time to ponder life.
While I enjoy a bunch fishing together I enjoy fishing by myself or mebbe with one other the most.
ST99,
Never fished Shaver's Fork. I was raised in the southern part of WV. Shaver's is one of those few places that does hold trout year around...I believe part of it is catch and release and another part is fly fish only so I'm sure that helps.
Does seem like it at first, but you need to know that the MO Conservation Commission releases 7,000 trout just prior to opening day and then continues with a program that releases 200-800 per week through out the season.
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".
We fished all around Elkins and Spruce Knob. Some is catch and release and artificial only. It holds some very nice trout. Nothing like seeing snow still on the ground in May and June.
