I have an Evinrude trolling motor that swings down off the front of my boat and it's not working. It plugs into a little 'outlet' at the front of the boat. I checked the outlet with a multi meter and it seems okay. When I hooked the trolling motor directly up to the battery it didn't do anything. I don't know much about electronics and was wondering if there is someone in or around Tally who deals with these sorts of things without charging an arm and a leg.
Dr. Jones, how old is the trolling motor? Is it hand or foot controlled? If it's 1999 or earlier, and foot controlled, the most common problem is the momentery foot switch.
I got all new switches for my foot control TM from these folks for around $70 "I think" last year it is fairly easy to replace all of them, so long as you take your time http://www.trollingmotorparts.com/

Take it to TinCans' house to be repaired. He has absolutely nothing else to do. He just sits around spending his tournament winnings and giving advice.
Hey Tin Can save $5 for a gallon of gas to fish the next club tournament. Short Reel needs some competition. He's the prevailing champion for 2 or 3 tournaments straight. Just think how hard he would be to beat if all his fish would measure.
