Most radios have dual or tri-watch to monitor 2 or 3 channels at once dont they? 8)

I normally have my handheld on while out in the kayak. Shields normally isn't a problem and last time out I was getting the marina in Keaton, but can't hear anyone else unless they're close. Never tried talking to anyone. Mainly just have it for safety purposes.
