With all of that said, I finally caught my first fish from a kayak. I'm now OFFICIALLY a kayak fisherman! Isn't she a beauty!

She's no hawg, but she was fun to catch and finally get the monkey off my back.
I went on to have three more hookups, but lost them all before getting them in the boat. I need to work on my hook set and fishing the lilly pads and grass of Lake Iamonia in general. Lost ALL of them in the pads/grass.
Here's another pic of "Number 1" that better shows the Lake Iamonia surroundings.

Of the other three hookups, two were this size or smaller. One might have gone 4 - 5 lbs and I would have loved to have gotten that one in and photographed. It hit my Snagless Sally with Pork Frog about 4 feet from the boat and in a wad of grass. I just couldn't get a good enough/quick enough hookset. It then boiled around in the goo and promptly got off.
Another interesting thing on today's trip was watching a small bass make a kamikaze drive at my bait about five feet from the kayak only to miss and terrorize a lilly pad stem. I think I laughed out loud on that one.
Was a great afternoon and I'm even more hooked on kayak fishing than ever before now!!!
