.........took it back to W. Marine in Tally. Tried another card...same issue. Tried the card in a diff. machine, same model GPSMap 376C, same issue, GPSmap 489, same issue, Gps Map 172, it worked like a charm. Got on the phone with Garmin tech support right there at the store. Best guess is a software issue with the 300-400 series machines. said they would kick it up to the sofware guys and call or email me back. So for the forseeable future no fix. Glad I've got the old standby paperchart.
I figured I better call Garmin today and see if they made any headway with my issue, plus I was tired of holding my breath waiting on them. No fix yet and didn't haave a clue as to what could be wrong. After talking to them and getting nowhere I decided it to mess around with it myself and got it to work. Go to the map page: press menu 1 time. go to Map information. You should have three maps show up: MUS012r should be there twice. The first is the actual maps and the second MUS012r is the info for tides and public reefs sites. The third should be the base map. All this is hoe it shows on my machine. Highlight the MUS012r that has all of the maps. On my machine it's the first one. highlight the MUS012r, not the check box but actual MUS012r wording. press enter and a list of all of the maps on the card should come up. Scroll down to map 11402(B) and uncheck it. enter out and it will now show all the detail for that area. On my machine I have to scale down to 2 miles to see detail. Hope this helps anyone with the issue. I'm a little disappointed in that I really only have a patched $150 card. It looks to me that they forgot to enter any information for that map.
