Aucilla Mar 6, 2007

Post by Fisherman989 »

Went to Aucilla yesterday...3 boats of us. Water temp on the flats was 56.4 degrees where we went. Between the 6 fishermen....one flounder was all we caught. Five guys struck out. Water is still too cold. Will wait till it gets up in the low 60's to go again. :( Wind blowed too hard too...right out of the North...at least 15 mph..maybe more.

Flounder. I haven't caught but one flounder in this area, and its the only thing you caught that day. Thats not good.

I wuz there. We caught some good-look'in 2'' pinfish and put 'em under corks, but no takers. A lot of bait there, so maybe trout will follow them out soon.

You can almost always catch flounder there. You just have to put a shrimp on the bottom, and fight off pin fish all day. I dont have the patience for it, but my Father in law catches at least one almost everytime I take him.

56.5 isn't good news. We got to about 66 in the shallow flats on Saturday. Fishing a little West of where you were I assume...
