Lanark or Dog Island

Post by AJ »

Has anyone here heard any news on trout fishing around the Lanark/
Dog Island area? I'd like to try it this weekend but if it's slow I'll
go back to St.Marks.

Fished there last weekend. Caught 10 or so spanish trolling mackeral rigs with spoons on the front side of dog. Went inside and fished fished for a little while close to the shore east of Lanark and caught a couple short trout. I think if you areafter trout you are probably better off fishing out of St. marks. Fished there last wednesday and caught serveral keeper trout in 3 to 4 foot of water east of the lighthouse. Good luck

aqua, I've never had any luck on that boat if your talking about the "One More Time". Granted I have not fished it a bunch. I've marked fish but have not caught much there.

AC

The shrimp boat in the pass is a good place to catch a big redfish. It may be tough fishing now with the dirty water though.
