Flounder Pounder and I took his skiff out later yesterday afternoon to get some mid-week rod bendings. It was hot and breezy with a slight incoming tide. The fishing was a tad slow, but we did manage to pick up a 25" and a few 20" reds. That should hold me over until this weekend.
Did you catch that red while it was tailing? Based on the spot I believe your photo was taken, there have been a bunch of reds and sheephead tailing on that bar with the outgoing tide.
They usually start tailing with about a foot of water left on the bar and everything I pitch at them just spooks them off the bar for 2-3 minutes. After a 30 minute tailing session they move off the bar.
