Chalk, Thanks for posting this site. I hope it gets passed on to the many people who think they are talking on a CB radio out ou the water.

How many times have your heard someone use there call sign (license #)?
Better yet when was the last time you heard it?

Tahnks again for the site.

Your quite welcome....Arclight

You can use your call sign for ship-ship or were implying some don't use nothing? Thats how I do it, most of us don't have boats big enough to put a name across the transom

When the channel is quiet, press the microphone button and call the ship you wish to call. Say "[name of ship being called] THIS IS [your ship's name and call sign (if applicable)]."

Though we do not follow this procedure by the book, it is usually "How bout cha BigT, this is Chalk" :smt042

I didn't realize they had assigned channels, the only time I listen to other channels is to snipe fishing info

Does anyone know how to locate or find the nearest PUBLIC COAST STATION to make a telephone call in our area? Thanks.

" Sierra Romeo Out" :-D
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".
