Merritt Island NWR

Post by Danibeth »

I know we're waaaaay away from Merritt Island, but I figured I'd post this anyway for anyone who does hunt, or wants to hunt, Merritt Island. There are changes being proposed and we have an opportunity to put our two cents in.

I will have to read it later. I haven't hunted down there in years and years. Almost went last year, but something came up. Used to be pintail mecca. Not so much anymore from what I hear.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

I hunted there in the 80's with my dad. He favored area 4. Seeing 100 pintails decoying is a sight to see. The way they drift back and forth from way up coming lower each pass. And sleeping on the causeway.
