I spray them down with freshwater, then after they dry, I put Abu Garcia reel oil on them.

I am currently in the process of buying new rod n reels but i want one that will last, also good for freshwater and saltwater (3-8 feet of water) i have been using abu-garcia but my father uses shimano any advice?
