If JCC passes on this please let me know. I am interested, but only after JCC has a shot as he has requested.

Looking for guide SGI or Apalach

Coming down to SGI in late July as usual, but this year I am not bringing my boat. Does anyone have any recommendations for guides that can fish inshore with 4 people?

Thanks

Re: Experiences with braid vs. mono

I was wondering about the fade. The outer layers of braid are faded, but when fishing it looks normal again. I agree that closing the bail manually each time is a huge factor in keeping wind knots down to a minimum. I have not had to "troll" my braid yet, but often have to do the mono, even if it is ...

Experiences with braid vs. mono

I had some poor experiences with braid a few years ago, but this summer I put some Suffix braid on a couple of Stradics and was really impressed. It was a much better experience this time. With mono, I pretty much changed it out for each big trip or about every 30 days or so during the season. My ...

Re: St Joe Scallop Trip

We had our crowd over there on Tuesday. Went SSW of Blacks Island and did not find much until we got into deeper water near the end of the channel. Took about three hours to mess around and find them, and once we found them, got our boat limit in less than 30 minutes. Kids of all ages had fun both ...

Re: ANyone fished near Sawgrass/Jax Beach

Bman,

There are some good places not far from Sawgrass. The ICW near there is but a ditch, but south of the palm valley bridge are some nice creeks that hold trout and reds, and the ICW becomes much broader and more user friendly. A kayak will be well suited for that. Watch the tides and most fish ...

Re: Memorial Holiday St. Joe Report

Great week in spite of the weather! Without giving away your spots, can you help me with the tide that was best for the bite? I assume that a couple of hours either side of the high, but might be wrong. Thanks.

Re: Need help Re: St. George Island fishing

The new ramp at the foot of the bridge is good and your best bet. Most consistent fishing should be had just past sikes cut behind little St. George Island. Look for the grass flats from 1.5 to 3 ft range. Tide will need to be moving for best results. Near high tide, ease up to the shore line and ...

Re: BAD BEHAVIOR, TOO!! Work in progress

BB Too is just beautiful! I am looking forward to your fish tales on the new boat. I have that same trailer under mine and I am extremely happy with the way it tracks and rides. Really loads easy too. Knock on wood, but that trailer put an end to my long suffering tire saga. I quit counting how many ...

Re: New boat rigging

BB

Go to Birdsall Marine on the internet. They have a dedicated section on flats boats. They have back rests that are removable. I am looking at one of them as we speak. Most of the information around the rigging I get from the MHP website that you know about. From what I know, you can call ...

I have a pair of Ocean Waves Backwater Green AND a pair of Costa's with the 580 amber glass. Both are exceptional but the 580's are superior to anything I have ever had. I think sunglasses are a hugely important piece of equipment and you get what you pay for. However, after 8 months of the ...

Steinhatchee April 16-19

Waited all winter for the annual spring trip. Made the trip from NC (600 miles) on Tuesday and then got ready for a few days of much needed fishing.

Wednesday 4/16. Much colder than predicted and the wind was howling but at least it was out of the east. We fished hard in the wind picking up a few ...
