Thanks. Looks like it'll be low in the late mornings those few days so that'll work out. Just hope the rains hold off!
I sent Brett a message to talk about scallop reports but haven't heard back from him yet. Renting it is an option, but it's just not the same to me. :-D It's worth dragging it to ...

It's been a long time
It's been far too long since I've been on the water down there. Left to go to college, found work and moved a few times, got engaged, and now living in Charleston. It's been +/-10 years now since I spent any amount of time on the Gulf.

Re: "Lucky" hat
Well, it used to be my NFGFC hat until it fell victim to a house fire this summer. Here's the replacement, it's done well so far, only a year old but seeing major fading from the original royal blue. Actually started seeing some action before the NFGFC one was lost but has now been promoted. Still ...

Re: WTB: Ford F250 7.3L 4x4 Crew Cab

Re: Better to spend money on rod or reel?
I too am on a tight college budget. I agree with all the above about a good quality rod being the most important. I like the TFO rods but when I was doing my research I thought that $200 entry level TFO was a bit high..for a basic setup. I suggest looking through the classifieds sections here ...

Very late report - 8/7 and 8/10 - Turkey Point
I had a week off between the end of summer classes and beginning of fall so Dad got us a place at the Moorings for 3 nights to do nothing but fish. I took a little boat with me to fish flats a couple days when we weren't going offshore with Dad. Here's how it turned out inshore.

Gave me the chills!
This is a long video but well worth the 12 minutes it takes to watch it... at least in my opinion! If you read this paragraph pretty close before you watch it you see the turnout on the roadsides wasn't a planned event.

Re: Which Sunglasses?
i got maui jim stingray. compared them side by side with my buddy's 580 fathoms on the water, maui's were seemed a lot clearer to me at least. more stout and better glass/polarization in my opinion.
