Lake Talquin Bream 7/11/10 - Mayflies
Arrived at Williams landing about 4:00 pm and fished the shoreline for about 2 hours with worms, crickets, and beetlespins. Saw lots of mayflies. Did nothing on the beetlespins, but they were hitting the worms and crickets. We caught 14 total, mostly bluegill and 2 shellcracker; however, most were ...

I'll bet Thomas Sowell's very livelyhood was not destroyed by this spill. These kind of articles really bother me. There are a lot of working class, downhome, redblooded, republicans whose lives will never be the same. It's easy for him to sit behind his computer and bang out these little opinion ...

Re: Worst Ecological Disaster in Gulf of Mexico History!
The blame game has already started. BP says it's not their accident, but will pay for clean-up costs. Thats a joke. The only thing they care about is profits:

Re: Wknd Econ Report
Believe me, I understand. The incident I am talking about was over and beyond what was necessary. I have been out there many times, and most of the boaters out there are very courteous. This weekend just seemed a little over the top.

Re: Wknd Econ Report
I was out there Saturday in a Gheenoe. We had to stay on the sides, as I have never seen so many boaters absoutely blowing past people in the river. One guy passed another boater in the middle of the river WIDE OPEN and literally could not have been more than 3 feet away when he passed him, both ...

Re: How to fish Hickory Mound Improvement Area?
Good, maybe I can pick up some pointers from them while I'm out there. It looks like the tournament area goes from Steinhatchee to Port St. Joe, so there should be plenty of room for everyone.Seachaser wrote:It may be crowded. Kayak tournament going on.

How to fish Hickory Mound Improvement Area?
I'll be out there this weekend in a Gheenoe. Are there any trout or reds in these backwaters?

Re: Lake Lafayette
We fished the upper "park" part last year with a Gheenoe and a trolling motor. They have the lake blocked so you cannot get a truck through, and there are no real boat landings at the park. We had to physically drag the boat and the trailer down to the lake.

Re: Fishing for Kids - Stock Pond
We actually went up there a few weeks ago and had a great time catching catfish out of their breeding pond. Hopefully I can find a place closer to Tally.

Fishing for Kids - Stock Pond
I have some nephews coming down for the weekend (ages 9, 7, and 5) who have never fished. I am looking for a small stock pond in the Tallahassee area to get their feet wet. We do not want to keep any fish, just trying to get them introduced at a young age.
P.S. Thanks to everyone for helping ...

Scalloping with a Gheenoe or no boat?
Is there anywhere around here you can go scalloping without a boat?
I have a gheenoe but I am nervous about taking it out very far. Can anyone recommend a good place I could launch with shallow water and lots of scallops? I do not have an outboard, just a trolling motor.
