Chalk, You're right about the wad of boats. Must have been 20 or more boats between 1st and 2nd birdracks Saturday. We headed to the West of the first rack where there were a lot less boats and good amount of fish. How many times have you had a buddy say "there's a bunch of boats over there, they ...

How close is too close?

Went to Econfina Saturday and had a great day with the trusty Mirolure, but you could tell the fair weather anglers were out. Had three boats run across our drift so close I could see what jigs they had under the CT's. One boat ran across our drift and then set a drift so close I could hit him with ...

I would post a report from Econfina on 4/19/03, but it would look like I was copying Chalk word for word. To sum it up:
1 lost anchor and rope
1 broken baitcast rod (father ...

going to put in at Lanark Village for the first time tommorow. Was wondering if the structure just offshore is a sandbar, oyster bar, or what?? Can you float across it? Looks to be high tide in the morning. I have a Carolina Skiff j16. Can I go straight out or do I need to run around it? Used to ...

Take it slow going out on low tide (of course). There are some rocks/oyster bars between mouth and ramp, some where you would not expect. If its not a negative low tide you should be ease out w/o much trouble. There is a sand bar straight out from the tripod at the mouth of the river (maybe a ...
