Redfish bag limit change May 1st
Care to share what you caught her on? Not a chance. We only have 1 photo release tourny a year locally. Its in about 3 weeks. I couldn't ever bring myself to fish the others. So ask me next month. If folks are catching lots of upper/over slot reds I would love to hear about it. Back to my or...

http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160416/cd9542c0fc5f2da2f2380251738c72c3.jpg I estimate this trout at 28-29". My kayak is 28.5" wide. Caught 2 weeks ago. I only caught 2 trout that day and close to 15 reds. Very few of the reds were over 20". If folks are catching lots of upper slot...

I agree regarding big trout. I caught my biggest 2 weekends ago.Ted in Tallahassee wrote:If you haven't been regularly getting big trout on the flats yet this year, you're not fishing in the right place! I've never seen it this good this early.
Numbers are way down from 2 years ago. Slightly up from last year for me.

Redfish bag limit change May 1st
I'm one of those folks that fish every week and can afford to be picky for that reason. Most weeks we have been catching 10-20 reds. Only about 25% of our reds are usually over 20". I think reducing it back to 1 is a good idea for that reason. More important to me would be changes to the trout ...

Riverbassintrail.com Tourney this Saturday in Crawfordville
I fished this last year. Lets just say I got an education in river fishing. Some folks have been doing it their whole life. The winning fish came from the apalachicola. Fun times.

Piney z by far, you aren't allowed to keep them and no boats to contend with.

I think the fisherman were thicker than the fish.

Lake Jackson 1-3-2016
Eating fish from Mcginnis arm. Your a brave man. Before the lake returned I fished there a lot from my yak. Loved the fishing, but after a rain it smelled like someone flushed a toilet. Its a direct drainage from the mall area. I've eaten a lot of fish from Jackson, but never Mcginnis arm. Thanks fo...

Go up any creek with depth during a tide movement. Stop at every curve, bar or drop off. Cast a curly tail gulp and drag it slowly with or across the current. Make long cast and don't spook em. If you don't catch reds this time of year. Your in the wrong creek.

Re: Trout Question
I also fish solely from a yak. In years past I would often catch 2-3 limits of trout on a good day. Not this year. Be patient, the trout fishing is improving. I'm catching a few trout every trip again. There scattered with only a few landings providing good numbers right now for the yakkers. Enjoy t...

For under $10 get a costco zipper freezer bag. It will last for a year. Throw away, repeat.

If your looking for folks to kayak fish with, there are about 15-20 of us on fcka.net who fish at least once a week. You should be able to find someone with similar interest.

Nice fish. I'm not a fan of gators at St marks. The lack of hunting makes them braver than everywhere else.

Re: today's find
I certainly don't value any animal more than a human, and I'm sorry for folks bad experiences. I've stopped a few times and moved rattlers out of the road, cause I knew folks would run them over. The ones I see don't scare me. The ones I don't are another story. No experience with cottonmouths. If I...
