Graduating Soon, Going to Miss BBF
I will be graduating in two weeks from FSU with my degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering and moving back home to Orlando to start working with a Civil firm. I wanted to say thank you to all the members of BBF. Even though I have not met many of you personally, I still consider you all friends ...

Re: St Marks NWR - 17 Apr 2016
It seems like the wind will just not lay down. I cannot remember the last day that I didn't walk outside and almost have my hat blown off and the coast is surely no exception. I'm hoping the wind will lay down soon and let some of us do some more fishing!

How Do You Interpret Fishing Weather Forecasts?
Offshore: I generally check noaa.gov's marine forecast for my intended area of fishing. This gives anticipated wind speed and wave heights. I also use the SeaTow app on my phone to check weather and tides. I also check the NOAA buoy information if there are any buoys in the area (re: I use this when ...

St. Marks NWF 3/15/16
Fished east of the lighthouse yesterday in windy conditions and an incoming tide. Managed two keeper reds and five trout. Reds were caught on live shrimp under cork. All fish were caught in deep corners of creeks.

First Archery Buck- Late Post
This is a late post, but I was lucky enough to kill my first archery buck two weeks ago in Lafayette County. All of the hard work during the summer finally paid off putting in food plots and mowing trails. We had seen deer throughout the season and had good trail camera pictures, but this was the ...

Re: St Marks NWR 8/31/15
.... The highlight of the day came when my buddy was working his Gulp in and something smacked it and started screaming drag. Out of the water three or four times quickly came a tarpon probably around 12-15 pounds!! Three or four quick jumps was all the silver king was willing to give us, and spit ...

St Marks NWR 8/31/15
Launched at 3:30pm to a high tide with a freshman buddy of mine who has never fished in this region of the state. We are from the Space Coast, so we are used to fishing Mosquito Lagoon and Indian River. We ran out to one of the boundary markers east of the bird rack. We set into a drift, and started ...

Re: Spring Gobbler 3/21-3/22
It is bittersweet to be done on the first weekend, but I still plan on calling for others. With the flats fishing heating up though, I may not have time!

Spring Gobbler 3/21-3/22
It's that time of year again! Spring gobbler season! This was my first turkey hunting experience. I had been looking forward to this weekend for months and literally counting down the days, practicing my slate call. I hunted both mornings this weekend with two buddies, Hudson and Harrison and we had ...

Re: Looking for a Scenic Ride
Wacissa River from head spring to goose pasture is about a 6 hour trip with great wild scenery.
I love kayaking the Wacissa. I've also done most of the Wakulla River, and although it is beautiful, there are a lot more boats to contend with, and the scenery is better on the Wacissa ...
