Re: Scallop Reports?
Thanks for all of the responses. Got out at St. Marks on Sunday (first time scalloping there). Found the boats on the sandbar and also the scalloping boats - probably fewer than 20 of the latter. With four people for about 3-4 hours we got just a few dozen. Not skunked, but they were nowhere near as ...

Scallop Reports?
Hi all - haven't posted in a bit, but we're hosting a friend from out of town next weekend that really wants to scallop. We've never had any issues getting on them ourselves in the past but based on the limited info shared here it seems the counts may be significantly down this year?
Can anyone ...

Carrabelle?
Hi all - A friend is staying in Carrabelle for the weekend and wants to fish. I've never wet a line there - can anyone suggest any good publicly accessible piers or shorelines? We might also have kayaks but I'm not counting on that as I'm not bringing my own. We may also be interested in renting ...

Re: Recommendations for a guest in town?
Thanks for the helpful response galantnole! I will check both of those out. We have a full day this Saturday, that's when we'd be looking to rent or charter. Cheers!

Re: Recommendations for a guest in town?
Impressing someone from kayak fishing is not the issue - he recently had shoulder surgery so that's ruled out. I asked about tips and recommendations for renting vs. charter.

Recommendations for a guest in town?
Hey all! Sounds like those that have gotten out have had decent luck with trout and reds recently.
My father is coming into town and I'm trying to figure out how to best maximize his fishing experience. I'm usually limited to a pier or my kayak as I don't have a boat, but those options have their ...

Re: Official Scallop Thread - 2016
Looking for a boat for me and m'lady to hop on tomorrow morning for scalloping - gas and beverages on us. Message me if you're looking for company - otherwise you'll see us in kayaks!

Re: Official Scallop report thread!
Hey all - Hit up St. Marks yesterday hoping to collect my scallop limit but ended up going home empty-handed (at least there wasn't anything to clean!). Super low visibility and lots of chop - we checked a few spots and decided that it wasn't worth it since we had to practically put our nose on the ...

Re: Kayak fishing Ochlockonee Bay
I've spent plenty of time kayaking around the shell beds closer to the mouth, but haven't tried the bridge yet although I would like to. Seems like they would hold fish! With my setup, I would plan to bring a longer-than usual anchor rope - not sure how deep the water is at the bridge and don't want ...

Re: Looking to gain more experience
Don't want to hijack Timmy's thread but I too am looking to crew up with someone to learn more about the area - inshore or offshore. Happy to cover gas and any other expenses. Drop me a line if you're looking for company or just to save money on gas! Cheers!

Monday 3/9 at Bald Point
Spent a few hours on the pier with a friend who was visiting - managed to catch (and release) a 16" red and a 14" flounder. Not much of a haul but it felt great to see some life out there after getting skunked the past handful of outings.
