These 2 talked me into skipping work to go along. I managed to catch the 2 biggest trout and had a nice fight with a Jack while DixieReb played around trying to get his lure out of the net after his monster red. fisherman99's advice "just play with that Jack for a while, the net is tied up, Have fun ...

Red Tide

TC,
DixieReb & I were going to go to St.Marks Friday but today I got wind of a red tide inshore at Mexico Beach. Have you heard anything on this or do you have any contacts that we could hook up with? With gas going for $2.70/gal here, 200 miles is a little to far to drive just for a dry ride to ...

DixieReb didn't mention all of the Scallopers that obviously did not see what we were up against in that same body of water. We must have lost 20 or more pins to baby sharks. :smt013 . Buth those little guys were real smart, the bite stopped just short of the hook.
I told the store keeper at ...

It was all DixieReb's fault that I caught that LadyFish. He said "Aint it about time you caught a LadyFish?". On the very next cast guess what I brought in? :smt013 Nevertheless we had a great day on the water and are already planning our next adventure. Got to go restock my tackle box. We could ...

My 1st suggestion would be to check the weather forecast from this web page. The winds are suppose to be 20 mph and 4-6 ft seas. :smt011 My advice is choose a safer place and time. Safety first saves lives.

Welcome

Don't feel too bad if Ms.SS out fishes you. DixieReb has the same trouble sometime. :P What he does to correct the problem is reposition the boat so that he is in the strike zone. He thinks he is pulling one over on me but I have figured it out. :smt013 We look forward to meeting you and everone ...

Foggy!!!

I tried to tell those guys to let's pack it in and call it quits when we could not find Channel Marker 3 after we left # 4. We could have been sitting on top of it and not known it. I believe I could have ran point on the front of the "Dixie Reb" with a machetti and cut our way through. I was OK ...

Whooper

I did, if you can believe it, catch a trout smaller than the one in the picture. He just did not post that one. I think it hatched and turned it's head to pick up my grub.
I was put in the back of the boat instead of the front and got to take care of the nursery. And I left work for THIS !!! :roll ...

Mad Maggie!!!!

Just in case anybody did not notice Fisherman99's report, he did not mention me. That is because they made me go to work so they COULD catch some fish. They knew if I went, it would all be over.
I don't think I would be enclined to take a hike along the river bank after hearing DixeReb and ...

I can appreciate calling lady fish, blow fish, sea cats, squirel fish, and toad fish TRASH but let's rethink this concept of trash fish when it comes to sharks. Man, that is some goooooddd eating when fixed right. :lick: The trick is to behead as soon as caught then gut 'em. whatch out though when ...

Live bait

Dixiereb and I stop short of our fishing mark for the day and throw out light tackle with a hibachi rig tied on the end and catch as small a pin fish as possible till we get enough to go on out. Then we hook that little fishey under a cajun thunder or bait mate if the pin is too large. Let that ...
