No, Sea Fox, we through some cut bait at the Cobia. They came up on us so fast, we really didn't know what to do. To make matters worse, we had no live bait fish, so we were not even set up for free lining. We'll be better prepared next time.

Grouper

We left out of Alligator Point Saturday morning at 9 w/ 2 of my friends and our wives. What a beautiful day. Our goal was the K tower for AJ's. Lots of fish to be seen as the water was clear. Barracuda and even 3 large cobia were around. Sadly, we only caught one AJ and that was a release. Moving ...

After 48 years, I finally made my first trip to the Aucilla.
And, I caught my very first red fish. In fact, we caught many of them!
I had only one keeper, and we ate it last night.
I sympathize w/ commercial fishermen, but you gotta figure that there just aren't enough reds to go around. After all ...

Tom,
I was in my 19' Cobia center console w/ 115 hp Yamaha.
We have a 28' Trojan bridge sedan, but it burns 2 gallons per mile on the fuel! Were you out that way?

Alligator Point

Two of us left out of Mashes Sands ramp at 8:30 Saturday morning and headed to a favorite "rock" about 10 miles S.E. of Alligator Point. The Weather report was accurate! We had 2 ft. seas and the weather was just fantastic :D
Using LY's, we caught lots of short grouper and the usual grunts and ...

Weevans,
You had a much better weekend than most in our area
We fished Alligator Harbor Saturday morning and the wind made it mighty tough! Those trout are in Alligator Harbor, but I've yet to catch on as how to catch those elusive buggers. The mullet are there too and we are hit and miss on ...

25 Hp Johnson

I have a 25 Hp Johnson on a Bass Tracker. When the ignition engages the starter, the piece that moves up vertically to turn the fly wheel stays up just momentarily. All other parts seem to work fine. Anybody know why this thing won't stay engaged? :D What a great week end coming up!

PinFishKing,
I hope you get a good answer for all of us on this issue. My best fishing budding uses Loran while I attempt to use GPS. While he has given me conversions numbers for GPS, they tend to be off by as much as 150'. So, what we have been doing is taking out both boats and when we get to the ...

We fished off of Alligator Point Saturday in 50' and caught only 2 keeper red grouper. Lots of grunts in the area. However, we did see a lot of mullet back in the harbor so it looks like the prime fall season is nearly upon us.
