Lake HAll

When I'm not at Oyster Bay on the flats or when I have a charter I fish Lake Hall. I get a yearly pass, around $40.00 which lets you fish 24/7. Great bass fishing. Use top water early and worms or shiiners after that. Lake Hall is one of the few lakes that stay wet during the draughts. There are hol...

bilge gas

Man, I hate hearing stories like that.

Mabe telling them will remind people to be more careful.

I'm sure it has happened at other places, and by getting fuel in the bilge by other means. Leaky hoses/gas tanks etc. Lots of boats with blowers don;t use them or they don't work. A rule of thumb is to wait for several minutes after refueling with the hatches open and the blowers running. I didn't h...

SOUNDS DUMB BUT IT COULD HAPEN

A guy I met while fishing in Bimini during a bill fish tournament last year made me comment on how careless he was. It was my son in law's boat so I shrugged off his excessive drinking and carelessness. He was on board because he was supposed to be a great rigger of trolling lines and lures. Well th...

KNIVES

I had been using a an electric and a standard fillet knife. My daughter gave me a cordless fillet knife. Now that's the way to go. I still use a very large and very sharp kitchen knife on sharks and use the filet knife to roll off the skin from the steaks. But for trout, that cordless knife really d...

THROWING THE NET

I have printed instructions with pictures I'd be glad to email if anyone would like to have it. It shows the simple way to throw a net, both large and small. I suggest small from a boat unless it is a pontoon boat.

A little chum makes a big difference too. If you want a copy let me know,

DEEP HOLE

We had a great day Saturday. Had a charter and fished west of the Light House. I saw a hole pop up, but didn't see any fish on the machine. Just for the heck of it we decided to work some jigs on the bottom, and we were surprised to get pleanty of hits and landed some very respectable trout at 18 ft...

Just got word from my wife, we'll be at our Grand Daughter's graduation, out of town on the 22nd. Sorry I'll miss the fun.

Mean while if anyone wants to fish, and I don't have a charter, especially week days let me know. We'll go catch us some fish.

Thanks,

I have two boats, a 20 ft. Aqua Sport with a new 175 Yamaha. My other boat is a 24 ft. Landau Pontoon Boat. I use the pontoon boat all the time when fishing the flats for pleasure or with customers. I wouldn't want any thing else. I took the seats out and have all the room in the world. Holds ice ch...

When do you think you'll be posting the start and finish times, and the final launch place? Were they already posted and I missed it? I'd like to participate that day and fish out of my house Oyster Bay, and meet up over at Shell Point. I guess the Ramp there will be open for everyone????

Thanks,

I have been trying this one since I found it this afternoon. It's a DOS program. I've been told there are windows programs for conversions that work easire. If I don't find one I'll have to sue this. If I do I'll let you know.
