Re: Any recent Keaton reports?
Well, the boat cleaned up well, but the motor won't start. Looks like my first day on the water this year will not be tomorrow. Good luck to all those fishing this weekend.

Short Tarpon Experience
I was fishing in my yak (14' Wilderness Pamlico) at SGI -bay side. I recently started the practice of 'trolling" when I am moving between stops. I would sometimes pick up a stray trout this way. This time, I was dragging behind my boat a cajun thunder with a gulp jig with three feet of 30# leader ...

Re: Keaton Beach
The Keaton Beach area is boat friendly with respect to rocks and oyster bars. There are some rocks in front of Dark Island (just to the south), and several miles north when you get to the Yates Creek area. There are a few oyster bars close to the grass in a few areas, but they are few and far from ...

Re: Darwin got cheated again
Strangely enough, a couple married friends of ours were in the boat when he jumped off. They said he and a friend were talking loud and rude and was sure he'd had some kind of liquor/drugs. They were just riding along and then the guy jumped out of the boat. His friend tried to grab him but couldn't ...

Re: Saint George Island 7/17-7/24
What Jumptrout's first advice is what I'd do - or put in at Lanark and still fish the same pattern. My experience has been the fish bite mostly run at daylight for a couple of hours and just at dark (regardless of tide....not like near Perry where I live). I would catch some during the day sometimes ...

Re: Steinhatchee 7 Jan 09
Bounce a jig very slowly off the bottom for a red, starting from near the edge. Usually works well for me in the river during these cold snaps.

I had double repair a few years ago. When you sneeze or cough, hold your stomach and don't hold anything bad - ie - let 'er fly. No other way to do it.

Re: Sportsman's Warehouse closing
I happened to go by there tonight and they were putting the sale signs up. I heard the employees had no forewarning, they we told first thing this morning that it would close down. There were a lot of sober faces. The lady who I spoke to said she was 'devistated'. I understand. My heart goes out to ...

Re: My Fishing Partner Just Left Me Here
Sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad five years ago, and think about him almost every day. May God comfort you and your family, provide you with the hope of seeing him again, and remember the good times you had. Be sure to pass on to other generations all of the good things he passed on to you...and ...

Late Report - Dekle 3/9
Here's a late report from Monday. Short story = did not do well.
As we neared the coast, we saw what we thought was smoke over the water. When we got to the ramp, we realized it was fog. This is about 12:00 in the day. The fog started right at the water's edge and made the air temperature chilly ...

Re: YATES CREEK BRIDGE IS OUT
There is not a ramp at Yates Creek. It is essentially a tidal creek with a decent place to push out (not really launch) a small boat. There is not much slope to the place where people put in, just the natural slope with a lot of oysters/rocks on the bottom. If one wanted to fish that area in other ...
