Re: Recommendations - Spot lock trolling motor
I'm in 226 Robalo bay boat with a hard top. I'm using a 24v Minn Kota and wish I had a 36v. Does fine on the flats or anchored near shore for cobia, but when I'm in the creeks fighting wind and current it struggles and drains the batteries pretty quick. I can't make it a full day tournament fishing ...

Re: Pontoon Boat For Sale- CHEAP
Totally possible. When my boat was stolen they never engaged the tongue, just lowered it on to the ball. My coupling lock was still on it when it was recovered.Steve Stinson wrote:Could have been stolen and the thief kept going after it came unhitched?I am sure somebody is missing it.

Re: St Marks boat accident
We heard the original distress call over the radio as we were docking at Shields. I couldn't believe it when they said they were at the fort. There is video out there of a what looked like a small ski boat in the circle of death.

Re: 2018 FL Skiff Challenge
Last year Panga made the Gulf crossing from Sikes Cut over to around Homosassa in some pretty nasty conditions. I couldn't believe what I was seeing when their tracker showed them taking that route. They ended damaging their hull on the crossing and had to pull out the next day. There's video of it ...

Agreed! I used Lee Trailers a few years ago for a new axle. They were great, and I felt the price was very reasonable. One Keeper wrote:Lee Trailer Sales. Give Will Thompson a call. 850-878-0788. He'll fix you up.

Re: Lanark & Tides
Thanks for the replies
. I'll wait and see what the wind is doing that morning before deciding. I've been out of there a few times with lower tides in my skiff, I just wasn't sure if I could do the same in a bay boat.

Lanark & Tides
I plan on launching out of Lanark Saturday morning. Will the tide (-.5) be an issue in a bay boat? I probably draft around 14-18".

Re: Frontier vs. Robalo Cayman 206
Just wanted to update y'all on the boat search. I pulled the trigger last week on a Robalo 206 cayman. Closed the deal with mikes marine. I really appreciate everyone chiming in with their opinions and knowledge. I should take delivery latter part of Sept. Gonna be tough to wait but hopefully it'll ...

Here's a long thread on The Hull Truth about the Cayman.

I have the Cayman 226 and have been very pleased with everything about the boat, except maybe draft. As Dawg Fan it's a heavy boat for it's size, but that weight ...
