200 HPDI on a 21 ft bay boat. Great motor. Fuel efficent and smooth. Hell of a difference between a carbed and fuel injected motor. Starts soooo easy. Idles and slow trolls smooth. My old carbed premixed motors never liked to idle or slow troll. No problems here.

I just like 2 strokes. Lighter, simpler mechanically, more torque, and I like the sound.

Glad to see evinrude has got their stuff together with the Etec. I'll let them get a few more years on them and see how they do. Next motor will probably be an Etec. I grew up with Johnsons and changed to Yamaha after the FITCH fiasco.

Twin 135hp Opti Max Mercurys on the Mako. Bought them new with the boat in 1998. Except for the port engine being a little cold natured on the initial start up I have been very pleased. No smoke, smooth at idle, run great and they have never let me down. Only have about 400 hrs on them. Which means I work way too much and fish way too little :-D I do have them serviced yearly. Also have a four stroke 40hp jet, 60hp head, Yamaha on the 1652 G3. Quietest motor I have ever owned. As with all four strokes it turns up slower than a two stroke. Hard to compare gas milage since it is a jet. Had it two years and so far no complaints.
