Re: favorite topwater lures??
7M Mirrolure. Clear body with the silver or gold foil inside for flash. Other patterns when the water clouds up. You can vary your retrieves and find out what the fish want. I like 3 feet of water but catch fish in 1 foot of water to 10 feet on occasions. OKAY! Here is the secret...POP the lure when ...

Mouth of the Suwannee and Cedar Key
Not asking for your secret spot but I would appreciate some "hints" as to some spots one might seek a trout or red. I have a trip planned for the first week in October and fish strictly top water while my fishing pardner likes jigs.

Go to the Gloomis website and follow the instructions for returning your rod for a replacement. I broke a Greenwater last year. After returning it to Gloomis I had a new one in about 10 days.

Re: West Bay 5-17
There are some nice grass beds on the eastern and western shores. At least you didn't get skunked on the first trip. Of course the wind made you fish the north side. I like to fish the windy shore rather than the slick side.

Re: Grand Isle, LA
Thanks for the report. I caught my first speckled trout at Grand Isle on a lure (sidewinder) when I was about 10 years old. Hope to make it back there one day.

Re: Help...Blue Mountain Beach..........Destin Question..
A couple of other tips fishfeeder. Good tides at West Bay. Fish the incoming. Check your tides for the week. Choctawhatchee Bay is different animal. Wimply tides sometimes and the winds can do crazy things to what you might have thought was going to be a high tide. Also, get a Hot Spots map. They ...

Re: Help...Blue Mountain Beach..........Destin Question..
1. West Bay. Ramp under the bridge (South side) of Hwy 79 bridge. West Bay has beau coup reds. I almost always catch some in the slot. Big trout too. Nice grass flats.
2. Choctawhatchee Bay. Near Blue Mountain is Hog Town Bayou. Launch on Hwy 393 and fish the grass flats. Point Washington. Lauch ...

Re: Hot Water Canal, West Bay
Thanks guys! It is good to see it in black and white. We were having a slow day on the water yesterday and it was good to feel something pull on the rod. Caught a nice red and some trout and released everything, of course. One fisherman fought a large Jack for serval minutes until it broke his line ...
