1st time to Econfina 6/5/2010
Made my first trip to Econfina on Saturday. Never realized that the Ecky and the Aucilla were so close. Definitely gets me closer to the spots I've had good luck at lately. Could not buy a trout bite. Wind was kicking up and waves were rocking the boat. Ran from some rain but found some ...

Mid-week at the Aucilla-success
Took a day off along with a buddy from church and hit the water at 7 AM. Fished ALL day, otherwise I'd have to be at work  . Hit some previously marked spots and my buddy began showing me up. 19.9" trout, another and another, a flounder. Thought I was going to see a show all day but then ...

Ate the ham, hid the eggs, hit the road. Put in at 3PM off by 7:30. According to my guage, water temps at surface hit 72. Water waas choppy, very stained and murky. Boated 2 keeper trout in 4-5 foot of water on jigs and 1 26.999" redfish on a gold spoon up near the grass banks. Quick trip, good ...

Thanks for the ideas guys, keep 'em coming. I'm sure everyone has this problem every holiday and birthday. I like the custom "something" idea so far.

Father in law's birthday is next weekend and as always I have no idea what to get him. He has everything I have and tons I don't. He fishes off shore out of Destin on a 27 footer and has the gear for that. He does a little inshore for trout/reds. Hunts for deer and hogs and seems to have everything ...

Aucilla 10/25
Simple trip, great results. Took my buddy who recently had twins out for a morning of fishing. He just wants to get out of the house so the success was a bonus. Not sure what the weather was going to be but it turned out to be quite nice until @ 9:30, then the wind took off. Fished near the mouth of ...

Re: Presidential debates
Had three young Obama/Biden backers come to my door last night @ 7 as I was eating the redfish I caught on Saturday. :lick: We heard the dog bark and knew someone was in the yard but they just stood at the door for 5 minutes without knocking!?!? I finally opened the door and they stood there shocked ...
