Re: Spring Warrior 1/23
Yeah, everyone was hot on Renegades a couple of years ago. They're OK, cheap. I've put new split rings and hooks on all of mine. I'll tell you this-their paint jobs last longer then the Redfins. I use the Ripplin' Redfins (floating) and was using gold that day but use chrome too. The gold wears off ...

Re: Steinhatchee
Well, Steinhatchee was a complete bust after 4 years of abscence. We went down there yesterday and fished from the outermost island to about 1 mile above the bridge...used all colors of mirrorlures...shrimp under corks..fished shallow...fished deep and all 2 of us caught was a few oyster shells ...

Re: Spring Warrior 1/23
Weather as usual was not quite as forecast. Cloudy all morning and windier than they said, but blowing offshore so it wasn't bad. Wife found me someone for me to fish with (husband of her friend). That sounds sad now that I think about it. Anyway, we caught a good limit by 1100 with 2 24" fish ...

Have you ever tried a Sabiki rod for them pins? I started using one a few years ago. Tip the hooks with a little piece of Gulp and fill thge live well in no time.
I used to use a little bream rod, but now I can catch 4-5 at a time.

I'll be down in Steinhatchee Sun-Wed. Probably fish up towards Piney Point at some point in the trip.

Sorry for your troubles Ron. I can relate. Anyone who spends much time on the water has had days like that.
I have had some experience with hook removal on my boat. Below is a great medical article which gives some pointers on getting one out on the boat (assuming it is not in a critical area). I ...

Trout Meuniere...
This is a cajun dish that I have been using lately. I got it from a cajun buddy of mine. I think it is the Galatoires recipe but niot sure. It is excellant. A little harder than just frying them, but worth the extra effort.

Re: Will Rain Ruin Inshore Bite?
Just wondering what the Board thinks about all this rain. Will it help or spoil the bite when it finally clears up?
I don't think so, but it may cause the fish to move to different areas for a while. I have always heard that trout like to spawn in high salinity areas, so the big sow trout may move ...

Wind Blown at Steinhatchee 3/26-28...
Conditions were less than ideal, but we managed to do well on both reds and trout. Limits of reds all three days and limits on trout on 2 of the three days. Our partner boat did real well on trout as well.
I was as tired as I have ever been after 2 1/2 days of fishing though. Winds of 20-30 with ...
