I replaced the motor in my '88 c1500 4x4 last year. I wanted to replace mine with something like what you did, but backed out at last minute for a replacement long block with 5 yr. 100,000 mile warranty. Sounds like you are going to have a lot more fun with your new motor!!

I didn't realize they took on so much water. I've seen one take a nose dive, it was behind me on the river, and everyone was on the front. Once it started to take on water, they all ran to the back.
