You're right, it's about time that things turn on.
The mullet were literally getting busted up every 2-3 minutes, it was crazy. I might have to venture back down there next Monday morning with an ample supply of bait and see what happens.

Bald Point 10/27
Got down there about 2pm today and the mullet were everywhere. They were getting busted all down the shore to Alligator Point by pelicans, and getting busted up all around Bald Point by macks. It was really ridiculous.

Do I need a license to shrimp?
I get difffering impressions from various websites.
I dont think it's gender specific. Obviously with most fish females tend to be bigger, but I doubt that male redfish stop growing at 25 inches.
I know that big striped bass are called "cows", and that's not gender specific. Yes the bigger ones are females but there's no way anyone can convince me ...

Shrimping?
What's the deal with em? Can I net them now, or no? No boat, so I'd be stuck from shore---hopefully around the Ochlockonee area.
Anyone have any advice or tell me how to get started?

If I happen to catch a skipjack I'll fillet it up and give it a taste test.
If you're fishing off a dock you won't catch a skippy, unless one gets very confused. The shallowest water I've ever caught that fish in personally is 85' and that was on the way to the 100 fathom line in the Northeast. I ...

How edible are Skipjacks?
I'm heading out to Ft Walton Beach next weekend and figured I'd do some hardcore fishing off the Okaloosa Island Fishing Pier. Their report for the week says catches of bonito, skipjack, poons, kings and spanish, flounder, etc etc. I'm wondering how just edible are bonito and skipjacks?

St George Island Fishing Pier?
Is this thing open yet? I wanna get out there this weekend, but refuse to do so unless that pier is open.
