You'll like either reel but the CI4 is pretty sweet. Showboat has a couple & they're just about all he throws.

Grainger has several sizes of fiberglass rod that are pretty cheap. I'd go that route.

I have an older generation Lowrance (7" screen) that I use. I think it's the 28HD. Does both GPS & bottom machine on a split screen so you can look at both, in 1 spot at the same time.
I'd buy another one in a heart beat if something happened to this one.

I've heard of folks finding 53 degrees all around from Spring Warrior to Aucilla.
