Musky on fly
Well, it's been a while since I posted anything, but here's something different. Went up to Tennessee back in January in search of the "fish of one thousand casts". Turns out that nickname is about right. Dredged a creek with my 10 wt for two days. Caught this guy a few hours into day number one. It ...

Re: What a joke
A friend of mine sent me this link a month or so ago. I told him I'm sure these would be a big hit with all the fly fishing hell's angels out there. Marketing that is going to be about as successful as trying to sell pink sledge hammers.

Re: Easter Weekend SGI
Haliaetus: yes we were both flyfishing, with the exception of the first few reds caught on Saturday on spinning rods which we used to find the fish in the dirty water that day. Redfin: don't be hatin' on me dawg!!

Easter Weekend SGI
Hi guys. Been a while since I put anything up here. Fished the surf at St George this past Saturday and Monday, and had a great time. Hit the beach Saturday, to find light South winds and fairly dirty surf. Started blindcasting in a couple of troughs and found the reds pretty quickly. Most fish were ...

Re: Is this a good deal?
It's a decent deal. It's good enough equipment to learn on, and find out if you really like flyfishing. Learning on cheap gear just makes it that much harder. Make sure you use good line. I've never used Orvis silver label, but I'm sure it's good stuff. Good luck!

Definitely hard to believe on a day with weather like this. Maybe it wasn't global warming!

Re: Fly Tyers post up...
I tie occasionally. Mostly in the spring when I need a special Dahlberg pompano fly that I can't buy anywhere. I pretty much hung it up when I had kids, but they're getting a little older now (4 & 2), so I'll be back to it soon.

Re: Piney Island 12.28.08
Hey guys. Thanks for the info on that area. I normally fish the Lanark/ SGI/ Dog Island area, but I'm trying to find some good spots a little closer to home, so I'm kind of having to start the learning process all over. I appreciate the input.

Piney Island 12.28.08
Put the kayak in at Bottom's Road and fished the back side of Piney Island on Sunday. Needless to say there was very little water in the morning, but it came in with a vengeance around 1:00 or so. This was only the second time I've fished back there, and for a place that looks so fishy, the fish ...
