in-shore reels
my bass reels are loosing performance with the salt water, even when being rinsed and cleaned immediatly after fishing. I've been a Shimano man. How about some feedback on this subject. How does the Spheros hold up, Penn graphite, Diawa-bg, etc.

things I learned getting plug buried in thumb
I don't know if this is a reference to my mishap Sat. evening, but thanks for the post. I was missing two things for the snatch method, good light and a fishing buddy. I was not able to get my wire cutters, between the hook and the plug to cut the buried hook. I could get to the place where the treb...

going south
Driving to Sarasota and back this weekend. I'm going to be taking the wading boots and a couple of poles. I'll be looking for likely spots, may even which over to the coast Hway 19, coming into Tampa. Small creek bridges for night snook.
Anyone know that area, grateful for any feed back.

knots
If it's breaking at the jig head, are you sure it's not knot slippage? If it's curled where it broke, you've got a slip. Use a palamor for any line, if you can, and keep it out of the hook eye gap. For Flurocarbon use the uni and don't scrimp on the twists, fewer for heavy leader. A traditional clin...

wading in the drizzle
Thinking about wading the in- coming tide tomorrow afternoon. Some pancho fishing. Grass flats at lighthouse, alligator habor, wakulla beach? How about down the beach towards the Aucilla, Keaton beach? Is there wading sand and grass? What is the best access? I've got a gold catch 2000 still in the b...

redbone spinning
I own a Redbone ML spinning rod, which is well made and carries a life time replacement warranty. The proceeds from the sale go to the Cystic Fibrosis foundation. The eye configuration on this rod is different from most you see, there are two extra eyes as compared to the Shimano rods I have. I put ...

Straight out from the boat ramp, you see that house and dock. At about 2o'clock from there, there is a ledge and drop to about 20 ft. Around the northwest side over by the Gazebo is suppose to be productive. I've caught most fish, slow fishing a Senko worm like a jig. The juvenile fish will scarf up...

Lake Hall
Before the cold front last week, I went down to the lake with two hours before dark. There is a hiking trail on the right side that skirts the lake. I decided to put on the wading boots and make my own trail down there along the edge. I think the reptiles are still a little groggy. If I see a snake ...

Storm swim baits
Those Storm swim baits sure look real, makes me want to get some crackers and mustard. Has anyone been caught by them. Did you have any results. Has anyone cast them into the swimming pool to see how they move. :smt007 I saw some that looked just like lake shiner. I reminded me of that massacre at L...
