I was down 2 weeks ago and caught some big Amberjack and some small grouper. Is anyone catching better grouper yet?

I played with it for a little while. I have not spent a lot of time on it yet. Thanks for checking, I will keep you posted. I will be at Econfina Friday night. We are planning on going off shore, but the forecast looks pretty bad.

I know the most accurate way is to go to the spot marked by the Loran and physically mark it on the GPS machine, but does anyone know of a good conversion program or mathmatical equation available to convert Loran #'s to GPS numbers?

I am hearing that soon you will not be able to fish off shore with more than 3 people in the boat unless you have a Captain's License and an Artificial Reef Permit (which by the way is not available). I hope this is an exageration and not true......

What kind of dead bait? I had a friend that was fishing with ROTTEN cigar minnows and catching grouper.

I'm heading to Econfina for a long weekend to try and catch some grouper. In case they ain't cooperating, has anybody been catching Kings, Spanish, or anything worth messing with? Is the grass still too thick to troll?

How far out do you have to go to catch tuna like the ones on the homepage? What bait and technique should be used?

I have never really keyed on AmberJack. I would like to try. I will be fishing off shore this weekend out of Shell Point. Any tips on depth, bait, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

I have been hearing tons of good reports about in shore fishing. What's the latest on the Grouper? Last I heard, Grouper were being caught but most were small. If anyone can give me a clue on the depth, bait, etc. it would save me some time this weekend I would greatly aprpeciate it.

How deep are the grouper? I haven't been down in a while, but will be down next week.

I caught a 22 inch gag last week while fishing for pin fish. I hooked him on a Zebco 33 and spent abount an hour and a half reeling him in. we were in about 6 feet of water outside econfina.
