heard it assorbs water and causes alot of rust in older tanks...as far as running, newer outboards are supposed to be ok, but have to drain or change filters alot.

I had a evinrude that did that, and I spent alot of time on it till I pulled the head and found that one of the pistons had broke a ring and was scuffing the cylinder really bad..ended up tearing it apart, took the power head in and had it rebored and all the cylinders honed and bought a new piston ...

Well I nailed a rock at 30 mph, was blessed that day, bought a skeg guard, called insurance company and uped my coverage's and now take it slow, if in doubt , go slower, I use my gps map and keep it updated, and it has worked for me so far.. Tried them all, got so many part spools, its ridiculous, but end up with what I started with, Ande, and use fluorocarbon leader material, and I don't cinch the knot, leave it a bit loose, dances better
