St. Marks

CS, I guess we need to go check St. Marks out soon. December is the month it gets good there, but if it stays cold the trout might go up in there early. Wouldn't hurt to check it out. I'm looking forward to some fish in Aucilla now also. take care.

local pond bass'in

Wife and I went to a friend's pond near Moultrie for a little bass fish'in. We planned to go flats fishing but wind was howl'in pretty bad. Trees were bend'in over when we got there, so I didn't expect much. We fished 2 hours and landed 8 bass, one 4 pounder,3 1-pounders, a 3-pounder, and about 3 sm...

spring warrior

Hey, Scott! Nice job. I only fished Spring Warrior once and didn't do near that good. We launched at Keaton and rode up the coast, so it was a ride. What did you get the 2 hammerheads on? Those were nice-un's. I'm ready to get back down there myself, we did real good over at Hickory mound 2 weeks ag...

rx. Sounds kinda like your day went like ours. We went to Steinhatchee Friday and got mostly shorts. Got 2 keepers, one was 20''. 3 black bass, biggest pinfish I ever saw. Probably weighed close to a pound. Got into a bunch of spottail pins on light tackle, good fighters on light. Good luck next time!

Nice job, Sir Reel.
Glad to hear o'L Icky is finally producing some good fish again. I guess we will head over that way next trip down. Did you get any trout on jigs?
CT rigs have been better for us, too. Mostly with live pins.

hey,
Good report, Biglee. Glad to hear somebody's catching something.
The cooler weather should really bring them in. Those flounders are a blast to catch on flats tackle. We catch most of ours draging a jig and strip of cutbait over the bottom. If he's there, he'll grab it.
See ya on the water.

CS, What kind of people were you talking about? we never had a problem with anybody down there bothering us or anything. Just wondered if I need to watch out-don't like taking a wife fishing if some undesireables are lurking around. Also, we got those last trout straight out from the last pole at Ke...

Keaton report

:Just wanted to give a fair report from Keaton. We got there at 7 am this past Wednesday. Went out to pole one and turned in toward shore. Wife got 20'' trout and missed smaller one on top water. Caught one keeper bass and went out to 11 ft. water fishing on bottom. Wind was calm so we stayed out th...

sea bass

Has anybody had much luck with black sea bass this year? We have caught lots of little ones, but only one keeper so far. Just seems slow this year, about like everything else.
Also, has the dirty water cleared any yet?

AJ,
How deep is the water where yo ufound the trout? I have fished St.George sound several times but caught few trout. We may be too deep if you got most of yours on topwater.

FishMasterson,
Just do what I plan to do and wait til September and maybe the water will be clearer, or at least cooler. I agree, it has been pretty bad out there lately. It's fun to go out, but I like to catch something. It takes us 2 hrs. drive just to get there.

Sir reel, We were South of the wooden rack by the sandbar about 2-3 miles, started out catching ladyfish so went further out and drifted East toward Aucilla. Got the bass on a '' GOTCHA'' sinking plug. We fished live pins under CT rigs but had little luck. She hung that big thing on a shinertail unde...
