I'm searching for a Man's day out while multiple families are renting a beach house for a week beginning on the 6/18.

We are staying at Seacrest Beach area some 15 miles West of PC and about 20 miles east of ...

Skeeter - My buddy told me that we would be doing some fly fishing. I always thought that Fly Fishing was for people who already had caught all of the fish that you would ever want to catch.

My goal for the week will be figuring out how to cast the Fly Rod with Cajun ...

Hey Folks! :smt006 It's been a while since I've posted since moving from Tally back to Nashville TN. It's been close to 24 months since I threw a Cajun Thunder, or had the smell of Sail Cat slime on my hands.

Anyway, I've been invited to go out of Key West on a 52' Viking for a couple days offshore ...

1 inch of Snow this morning in Nashville, TN. Down to 12 degrees last night. Burrrrr....

It snowed last night again in Nashville (which I don't care to miss), it was great to be back in 70 degree weather again....

And with a few fish, well, that's just a bonus.

Not to mention, it was dead calm all day... Too calm per the Captain as it was very hard to keep an anchor with no wind ...

Left out of Carrabelle with 4 fisherman and Capt. Scott on the Renegade at 8am. What a beautiful day on the Water! Capt took us out to close to O tower and we hit on some Snapper. It was sad that we couldn't keep these. LY's and Squid was the bait, and the Squid seemed to be the best bait. Motored ...

You really make me miss living in the Gulf. During only my 18 month stay in Tally, I was able to take advantage of Lanark fishing bout 40 trips. I sure do miss it. Looks like I'm going to get to give it a try in late Feb when we go down and visit some friends.

Can't Wait.

I sure do miss Lanark. Last spring, I was there twice a week. I've since got the family, had to sell the home in Tally, and moved to Nashville, TN.

We're all settled in now in Nashville, and bigbendfishing.net is as close as I can get to the saltwater.

I hope you are saving some of that in the freezer for me this weekend!

Sorry that it took me so long to respond.... Living about 3/4 time Nashville, and back with the Family on weekends. Don't know how long the family and I can put up with it.

Interesting thing about the independent consulting business is that you have to take it when you get it.

It was cold and windy at 8 am when Skeeter and I launched at Lanark. But since I've been couped up in an office Nashville for several months, we had to take advantage of the opportunity, for one last 'therapy' flats fishing trip before the year's end.

Water temp was 60-62 all day ...

Coleman 1500 psi gas powered power washer. Maybe 5 years old? Takes a while to get warmed up. Just cleaned the carb. $50 obo. I'll throw in a small workbench - used for a portable router table.

Water Temp was in the high 87 or so as I briefly recall.

Banshee and I headed out of Lanark at about 6 am in the dark, 200 shrimp in hand. Low tide, 4:30 am, rising to 12:00 noon. Wind was slight out of the east. We were originally concerned as we watched the lightning in the night ski, but it turned out that bad weather was futher east. :thumbup:
