Re: Gigging Flounder
I've been wanting to do this for a long time. My old boat had HID's I could point down in the water, but it was too small to gig from. Gotta wait till I get lights on my new boat then I'll go out and give it a try.

Re: Crystal river Scalloping and swimming with the Manatee's
Sorry Hit-N-Miss, I've never been on the water out there. I go there from time to time to do maintenance on FWC's radios. Although next time I'm down there I may bring the boat.

Re: St Marks Scallops Reports ........
Visibility is terrible at St. Marks right now. I went out yesterday in the rain and visibility was less than 2 feet. I didn't see one scallop.

Re: Crystal river Scalloping and swimming with the Manatee's
There's a public ramp next to Charlie's Fish house, which is an EXCELLENT place to eat. There's also an FWC field office down there between Inglis and Crystal River, but they're closed on Sundays. They can probably answer any questions you have, or point you in the right direction. Here's the number...

I'm still in bed. Keeping a close eye on radar though. Might just give mother nature the middle finger and go anyway...as long as there's no lightning.

Skunk Report
Last night, a buddy and I, and his girlfriend put in at Coe landing on Talquin and headed over to iron curtain. We arrived just before sunset and decided to throw plastic worms around the cypress trees looking for largemouth...nada. After a while I switched to a suspending Rapala X-Rap...nada. My bu...

Lake Iamonia...anyone?
How's the fishing out there? Seems to be plenty of gators on the north end of the lake so they must be eating something.

Re: Power Pole
If you have multi-meter, pull the positive cable off your battery, connect the red lead to the positive batter terminal, and the black lead to the battery cable. You're meter should now be in series with your battery cable. Be sure the multi-meter is set on DC amps. If you see a draw on the battery,...

Re: Went West...
There's nothing more annoying than making that drive allllllll the way down to the lighthouse, just to turn around and come back. It's a pretty drive though! Be sure you watch that 15 mph zone too. US Fish and Wildlife runs radar there.

Re: cobia at st. marks
Rhettley is right...especially about sting rays. I fish the area close to shore between the lighthouse and rock garden. I see plenty of rays around there. I also saw a BIG shark on my way out of stony bayou at low tide one day. It was big enough to make a wake like a submarine behind it. Glad to see...
