If you're sight fishing or plan on doing a lot of trolling they're great; if not a tower is as useless as teet's on a bull. I have one on my boat, and since moving it here haven't had the chance to use it. The controls can get sticky when they aren't used regularly and bleeding them is a pain in the...

If I happen to catch a skipjack I'll fillet it up and give it a taste test. If you're fishing off a dock you won't catch a skippy, unless one gets very confused. The shallowest water I've ever caught that fish in personally is 85' and that was on the way to the 100 fathom line in the Northeast. I h...

Without question comon names are very tough, here's one even worse for ya. My brother lives in Levy Co. and fishes out of Cedar Keys. What we call Hard Tail he calls a Blue Runner What we call Pilchard he calls Razor Bellies. What we call Pinfish he calls Sailors choice. He and I were discussing bai...

Re: How edible are Skipjacks?

Well, common names sometimes confuse me with fish, but usually bonito are "Little Tunny" and skipjacks, are, skipjacks. I personally consider bonito to be catch and release fish, unless you have a need for bait strips or shark bait. Some do eat them in small raw pieces, but I don't. They ...

It is a two fish Red grouper limit that takes effect 7/15 but only for federal water.

The page you're trying to print is 11x17, either shrink it to fit on 8.5x11 or use 11x17 paper.

Freshwater GeneO.

Since moving here in December and meeting my service manager, Donnie, all I have heard from him is how superb the bass fishing is on the lake at his house. Early last week Donnie asked me to join him to do a little Bass fishing on Lake Tallavanna. So I decided to give Journey's End the weekend off a...

I know exactly what you mean. I've been running into the same problem lately. I'm taking the advice of Rocky to Apollo in Rocky III.

Apollo: "It's to bad we've gotta get old Rock"
Rocky "Just keep punching Apollo, just keep punching."

You're in a good area. First and foremost welcome aboard. I can't tell you much about wade fishing but if you talk nice to ole Don he'll give you some real pearls of wisdom on catching the ever-elusive Sailcat, as he's our resident expert. :smt064 :smt042 In all seriousness TC's probably forgotten ...

I called Jeff Friday night and asked him to set my pinfish trap off the boat he called me back a few hours later to say it only had two in it that should have been a sign. That setup is what I'm trying to get away from. With the weight directly on the Power Pro it chafes the line and the rocks do as well.

The bead between the sleeve and the weight is an added layer of protection from a pinch that will result in a break.
