Re: Shimano Calcutta 201b / St Croix Triumph 7' M ($150)
If any of you all want to buy this rig you can settle this right hand vs left hand argument :D I'm right handed and use left hand retrieve reels. Cranking a reel requires no work for me, working the rod and fighting fish does therefore I'm better at using my dominant hand/arm for that. It may also b...

Shimano Calcutta 201b / St Croix Triumph 7' M ($150)
Need to make room in the fishing closet and get rid of rarely used gear.
$150 can meet in Tallahassee.
Reel is the left handed model, has a little boat rash but nothing bad. It's loaded with fresh 17lb mono. Rod is great shape.

Re: Help Picking out a Fly rod
I'll just be blunt, $300 is going to put you in a cheap outfit that will be trash in a year if you stick with fly fishing. You might can get away with $500 for a decent rod, reel and line. We're not talking 4wts for freshwater, fly fishing in salt is a different beast, your throwing heavy flies, dea...

Re: Scalloping around Panacea?
Lanark is the only place I've read about there being enough scallops to bother looking for them.
It would be about a 20 mile run from the O river, and across open waters that get nasty in the afternoon.
I would just tow the boat to lanark if you want to scallop, it's only 30 mins or so from mashes.
