Re: Scalloping?
Well, I was east of the lighthouse today and found a lot of boats but not many scallops. I was in the rock garden near Palmetto Island. I'm going out tomorrow but not sure where I should go. I'm lauching from St. Marks and thinking about heading west. This is my first time scalloping. What's the ide...

Re: Scalloping?
Thanks. I'm going to head to the rock garden (palm island) around 8:30. My kids are 6 and 12. We are looking forward to a good time. I suspect I'll be there as the tide goes out so I know I need to be careful leaving. I hope we find some scallops and fish.

Re: Prop pitch RPM?
Thanks for the replies. My objective was ton increase speed. My thought is that increasing the RPM would increase the speed. It looks like I was and have been saved from aggrevation and wasting money.

Prop pitch RPM?
I have a pontoon boat with a Mercury 90 engine a prop pitch with a 17 pitch. The RPM at full throttle is 5000 and the MPH is about 23. 8 have read that if drop to to a 15 pitch, I will get an 500-800 RPM increase. I don't know what these means as for a MPH increase. Should my next prop be a 15?

Re: June 11 and 13-Lighthouse
Sweet. I was out there Sat and Sun. I didn't have much luck early Sat but Sun around 10:00 to 3:00 I was a little more successful. I was out as far as marker 2. I wonder if I was too far. I'm trying to figure out the area and don't know what depth I should fish.

Pinfish?
I hear a lot of talk about pinfish. I have had good luck with them on the few occasions I've used them. I'm thinking about getting a pinfish trap and putting it out the evening before the big day. Will I have much luck with it? I wonder if the crab trap guys will steal it. How those Sabiki lures? Wh...

Thanks for the info about ladyfish. I'm thinking about getting a pinfish trap and putting it out the evening before the big day. Will I have much luck with it? How those Sabiki lures? What's the trick?

Re: some advice for a desparate angler, nothing specific
Great info all. I'm in the same boat as jehren :D When 2 hours before or after a tide is referenced, is this when I should start or end? In other words, should I go from two before high tide and stop at high tide ( or expect not to get anything at high tide). I feel dumb asking this but I'm puzzled....
Re: live bait
Good info. I am going to try a sabiki tomorrow. I've seen them in stores but didn't know what they were for and how to use them.
